Dear Parents and Families,
I hope you have had a good weekend and that everyone has been adjusting to their new schedules! We are excited that this week marks the beginning of a fantastic offering of electives and study periods to the Computer School students. Students had many choices, and classes filled up quickly - but each class will be an enriching and enlightening experience, and students will have the opportunity to explore a vast number of creative and fun options as the year continues. This year is full of fascinating learning experiences, but for new students their parents (mostly 6th graders), this time requires some getting used to.

Greetings to all Computer School Parents and Families,
CURRICULUM NIGHT IS HERE!
We look forward to seeing you at Curriculum Night, Monday September 24th from 6-830pm! This is an ideal opportunity to meet the teachers that you have been hearing about, and to find out what is happening this year. If you've wanted to know more about Advisory, the new Electives, Teacherease, After School, Music and Sports, you'll learn about all these aspects of life here at Computer School.
**Monday night is also a vital time for 8th grade parents to learn more about applying for and getting into high school. This is a process that we all need to be well-informed about, and we want to help you all go through it as smoothly as possible!**

Also, we'll tell you about upcoming trips and learning experiences: the 8th grade Montauk trip, Lincoln Center Institute's learning partnership with Computer School, as well as Parents Association plans.
See you there!

Dear Computer School Parents and Families,
October is here, and so is AFTER SCHOOL! As of 230 on Monday October 1, we officially begin! As I hope you are aware, there are many activities in which to get involved after the regular school day is done. If you haven't sent registration in with your child, please do so right away! If you have not reviewed the classes with your child and need a form, please get one right away from me, Ms. Sloves in room 301, or Margie in the main office. Please keep in mind that participation in the sports teams and the musical "The Wiz" are based on tryouts, so do not register for these classes until you know that your child will be involved for sure.

Dear Computer School Families,
Thank you to all of the parents who attended the 6th Grade Breakfast last Thursday - what a great turn out! (Sorry that the Decaf coffee decanter did not work.) This week was quite social, as we had our first dance of the year. I hope that everyone had a great time!

Dear Computer School Families,
Once again, I hope you have enjoyed the warm, beautiful weather we've been having this fall!

EXPLORATION!
This past week was full of many exciting adventures full of discovery outside of the school walls. First off, the 8th grade trip to Montauk was amazing!! The weather cooperated until Friday morning, so all of the outside activities were enjoyed to the fullest. The teachers have reported what a wonderful time they had with the energetic, curious and passionate 8th grade. Thank you to everyone who made this happen once again. Sixth and 7th graders, you have a lot to look forward to!

Dear Computer School Families,
November is here, the chill is finally in the air, and the holidays are near! Those of you who ordered from CHERRYDALE will be receiving your orders the week following Thanksgiving or the first week of December. This will give you plenty of time to figure out who gets what, wrap those presents and enjoy knowing that you have helped raise money for Computer School. Thank you to all who made the effort, and know that there will be other fun opportunities in which we can partake to raise funds.

Dear Computer School Families,

We had our first snow, and it is definitely feeling like winter! There is a lot going on this month, so I'll get right down to it.

Dear Computer School Families,
THE COMPUTER SCHOOL CARES!
The winter break is near, and we are excited about all of the upcoming events in the next two weeks! In the spirit of giving, the Computer School is engaged in a number of activities that benefit others in our immediate community as well as those in our extended CS family down in Nicaragua. We hope that you can participate in some small way

Dear Computer School Families,
This is the final week that we'll be together before the New Year, and it is a time to celebrate! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Talent Show Fundraiser and all of the staff and students who made it a smashing success! It was an amazing display of talent, enthusiasm and energy all in support of our sister school. Founding principal, Steve Siegelbaum, raised our awareness, and we raised money that will greatly benefit those at the Computer School in Tipitapa, Nicaragua. It's amazing what can be accomplished when we work together in the service of others in need.
