So, what is High 5?

High 5 Tickets to the Arts gives teens exclusive access to New York City’s thriving arts scene for just $5! Through the generosity of over 300 arts organizations in NYC, High 5 is able offers $5 tickets to events ranging from dance to music to theater and the visual arts—we've got a taste of everything for everyone!

But High 5’s got more than just $5 tickets. The Teen Reviewers and Critics (TRaC) program and Freelance Writing Corps offer teens the chance to explore NYC’s culturescape, write about their experiences and publish their work on The High 5 Review, an interactive media hub fueled by teen arts coverage.

Who can buy High 5 tickets?

Through High 5, $5 tickets (displayed on our newsletter and website) can be purchased by:

  • Teens aged 13-18
  • Students enrolled in grades 6-12
  • Parents/accompanying adults of teens

Please Note: There must be a 1:1 ratio of teens:adults present at every High 5 event. So, if there is one adult there must be at least one teen, two adults, two teens... you get the idea.

THE WEEK IN ARTS

Pizza & a Movie
-- Sasha Jason's International Edition--

Three choices. One vote. Mob rules! After the film, as always, we talk it out. Those are the sacred rules for High 5's Pizza and a Movie Night, the first Friday of every month. Join us! Look for the High 5 crew in the Sony Public Atrium at 5:00 p.m., sharp. We'll have a High 5 sign-in and (of course) pizza. Afterward, we'll head on up to Sony's beautiful 78-seat, high-tech screening for a great film --- that you all will vote for! Seating is limited, so you must lay claim to your seat by sending an RSVP to Laura Quackenbush, High 5's Assistant Director of Film & Pizza at quackenbushl@artsconnection.org. Include your name, school, age and phone number. Please let us know exactly many people you'll be bringing. Also, if you arrive later than 5:20 p.m., you may miss the group!
