The CS Equity Team is hosting Career Day on Monday and we are so excited! This will be our first virtual Career Day, and thanks to parents, guardians, relatives and friends of CS, we have an illustrious and fascinating group of presenters.

We hope that you all had restful holidays and that you are safe and sound. We host ed our Open House 2.0 for 5th grade families on Thursday, January 14th, at 6 pm. If you were unable to attend, please take a look at our latest video posted in this news item (as well as on our Admissions page.)

Please join Ms. Hill, Mr. Zymeck, and Ms. Shalom to learn more about this year's high school application process. They will review the changes and give you the latest updates. A zoom link was sent via Jupiter Ed. We'll see you there!

We can't wait to celebrate Winter Wednesday with you on 12/23.

As a full moon hung in the sky, we completed the first marking period of the year - congratulations! Report Cards will be distributed on December 9th, after which we'll host virtual parent-teacher conferences. We already have more than 75% of families signed up; let's go for 100%.

This week we are focusing on gratitude, in our All School Meeting and throughout our community. We have navigated a great deal of ups and downs this year and we continue to be there for one another. Each and every one of you makes CS a special place.

As announced on Wednesday, NYC schools will suspend in-person learning until further notice. Students will engage in full-remote learning. Please be mindful of emails as we update cohorts on their schedules. For now, look skyward! For the next few days you can see Jupiter and Saturn to the left of the moon - an unusual planetary positioning. Let's take that as a good omen for days to come.

For Wednesday, 11/18: 1. School is open! 2. At 8:30 am, Ms. Shalom, AP, will discuss Standards Based Grading and the current DOE grading policy at the PA Meeting.

On October 26th, the DOE announced a change in plan for students currently learning 100% remotely to opt back in to hybrid (in-school) learning. The window of opportunity for applying opens on Monday, November 2nd, and closes on Sunday, November 15th.
Please note: Per the DOE, this is the only opportunity to opt back into hybrid learning for the rest of the 2020-2021 school year.

Election Day is here, and hopefully many of you already have cast your vote in the 2020 election. On Tuesday, November 3rd, Cohort A will NOT attend school in the building; ALL students will learn remotely and there will be no live zoom classes.
